Three Day Hands-on Workshop

classroom overview

Our flagship offering and most immersive experience. Over three engaging days, our Director of Education will be on-site to lead comprehensive instruction, guiding students through every step of the distillation process—from grain to bottle. Distillery University handles the majority of the educational workload, materials, and logistics.

Your distillery’s primary role comes on the third day, where your expert team will facilitate hands-on activities, potentially including mashing, fermentation, distillation, barrel-filling, blending, or bottling. Every student leaves with their own crafted bottle of spirits and lasting insights into the art of distillation.

Single Day Hands-on Workshop

The perfect option for distilleries who want to participate with less time commitment. Students complete their classroom-style learning online via our interactive webinars, then spend one intensive, hands-on day at your distillery. Your team will lead practical experiences—running equipment, making spirit cuts, and managing post-distillation tasks—giving students essential real-world skills in a condensed timeframe.

Spirit bottles are not mandatory in this format, though distilleries are encouraged to offer product discounts.

Half Day Enthusiast Workshop

spirits tasting event in Seattle

Designed specifically for spirits enthusiasts, tourists, and casual learners seeking entertainment and education. Your distillery provides a guided tour, tasting experience, and engaging hands-on activities—such as sampling spirits directly from the barrel, running a bottling line, or performing small-batch spirit runs.

This shorter, relaxed workshop is ideal for highlighting your brand, driving tasting-room sales, and attracting new customers. You can expect this event to run 3–4 hours (depending on group size) and can be scheduled whenever is convenient for your distillery.

What We Need From You

Hands-on Workshop group photo

To ensure a successful Workshop, we require your distillery to provide the venue and participate in hands-on activities. Here’s a short list of everything else we’ll need:

  • One of the key selling points of a 3-Day Distillery University Workshop is that each student goes home with a bottle of spirits included in their fee. Ideally this bottle will come from that day’s distilling activity but this is not required. The cost of the bottle will be factored into your compensation as a Host.
  • Staff Liaison: A point-person (you or a team member) available on-site to answer facility questions.
  • Restrooms accessible throughout the day
  • Tables and chairs (3-day Workshop: tables + chairs; 1-day: chairs only)
  • Reliable Wi-Fi for both student and instructor use
  • Adequate insurance (it’s likely your current policy has sufficient coverage but always best to check)
