Why This Bootcamp?
Most gin education gives you theory. This gives you a proven system from someone who's actually won awards doing it.
Todd Buckley didn't just study gin—he crafted one that beat the competition at a major industry judging. In this bootcamp, he breaks down exactly how he approaches botanical selection, distillation decisions, and the blending process that separates forgettable gin from something people remember.
What You'll Walk Away With
A complete gin-making framework — not just recipes, but the decision-making process behind them. You'll understand why certain botanicals work together, how to balance your flavor profile, and what separates craft gin from commodity spirits.
Confidence to experiment — Learn the sensory evaluation techniques that let you course-correct during production, not after.
Industry connections — These sessions are live and interactive. You'll meet other serious distillers, ask questions in real-time, and join a community that extends beyond the bootcamp.
A year of ongoing education — Your enrollment includes full access to every course on DistilleryUniversity.com, plus recordings of this entire bootcamp to revisit whenever you need a refresher.
The Curriculum
Sessions 1–2: Gin Fundamentals & Market Strategy What actually defines gin—and what makes each style commercially viable? We'll cover London Dry, Old Tom, New Western, Plymouth, Genever, and Navy Strength with an eye toward what sells and why.
Sessions 3–4: Botanicals & Distillation Methods The heart of the bootcamp. Juniper selection, supporting botanicals, and how your equipment choices (column vs. pot still, gin basket vs. maceration) shape your final product.
Session 5: Blending & Sensory Development Building sensory charts, balancing flavor profiles, and the extraction techniques (alcohol vs. water) that give you control over your recipe.
Session 6: Finishing, Cocktails & Common Mistakes Resting protocols, cocktail applications (Negroni, Aviation, Corpse Reviver #2, and more), and the errors Todd sees most often—so you can avoid them.
